The Amerige Heights HOA Safety committee is currently working on the following solutions:
- Improving the brightness from the LED streetlights
- Update – All the streetlight bulbs in the community have been upgraded and now providing a brighter environment for residents.
- Improving the brightness in the parks
- Update – Working with the new Amerige Heights lighting vendor on bolard solutions
- Planning a community meeting with the Police Dept.
- Looking into Crosswalk improvements on the city maintained public streets (Hughes, Starbuck, Hetebrink, Benchley)
- Looking to add additional streetlights on the Hughes St sidewalks by the water fountain
- Looking to add stop signs on Pioneer St at the Starbuck and Benchley intersections
- Working with the newly formed Amerige Heights Neighborhood Watch Program (ahnw.net).
- They have a direct partnership between Amerige Heights residents and the Fullerton Police Department.
- They organize the residents on each street to be aware of what is happening around them and to also build a sense of community street by street.
- Worked with the city of Fullerton to have the AHNW signs posted on the city maintained streets within the community.
- Looking for a lighting vendor to offer group discounts to assist residents in changing/upgrading their exterior porch lighting.
- Working on a solution to deter car break-ins at night.
- The HOA is not directly affiliated with the AHNW program due to the national Neighborhood Watch Program structure.
